Basic American Heart Association (AHA) Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) courses will be offered for Family and Friends as well as those in need of the Healthcare Provider Level. Each students will receive a course completion card. AHA Student Handbooks will be available for sale at an additional cost. This course is designed with the student in mind and will be conducted in a relaxed, low stress manner ensuring that the student is comfortable and confident. The class will consist of a CPR overview as well as extensive hands-on practice. In-addition, the class will also include steps for assisting the Choking Victim and an overview in the use of Automatic Exteral Defribrillator (AED). Course is taught by a Certified AHA Instructor with more than 30 years teaching experience.

The First Aid Course is a National Safety Course, which meets the requirements for Day Care Providers and others in need of a Certified Program. The course is designed to teach the basic steps necessary to deal with emergency medical situations that might occur around the house or at the offcie. Course content includes emergencies such as falls, breaks, cuts and scrapes, and other medical issues such as recognizing cardiac and stroke problems, and how to deal with the psychological parts of First Aid. This course is great for parents of young children.

Many people upgrade from a point-and-shoot camera to a digital SLR expecting to take better pictures, yet they are often disappointed in the results. Are you still getting blurred, out-of-focus, and unflattering images? Many DSLR users know their camera has all sorts of functions and features, but they don’t know where to begin to use them. You can start by taking control of your camera and learning to take it camera off Auto or Program to create consistently satisfying images. By the end of the course, you will be much better acquainted with your camera, understand what it can (and cannot) do, and know when to use its various buttons, dials, and menu. Class will be a combination of lecture, discussion, and hands-on practice. Weekly assignments will give participants a chance to practice techniques and reinforce
concepts covered in class. Please bring both your digital SLR and manual to class.
Cake Decorating 101: Buttercream, Royal Icing, Fondant AND Gumpaste!

A basic introduction to Buttercream frosting and Royal Icing techniques as well as Fondant and Gumpaste! In the first 5 classes you will learn to frost, smooth and cover your cakes with Buttercream – make borders, pipe figures, flowers, leaves, and even a transfer technique! THEN 4 Fondant and Gumpaste glasses in which you will learn to cover your cakes, cut and place elements on your cakes, make a bow, 4 different flowers and different borders! You will AMAZE yourself and your family and friends with your cakes. Please bring the following to class on the 1st night – A dozen unfrosted plain/flat cookies or cupcakes (store bought is fine), star tip #18, round tip #4, disposable decorating bags, decorating couplers, spatula or knife (to fill your bags), medium sized covered bowel (2 cups
size), mat to work on (placemat size), toothpicks, damp rag, ziplock bag, bottle of water, gel colors, pen to take notes. NOTE: You will be responsible for purchasing most of your supplies which will run approx $60 (Not all supplies are required at the same time) plus the cost of cake/frostings. Bring size 8 knitting needles, 10 or 14 inch. Yarn will be provided for the first class. Beginning to Intermediate knitters are all welcome. Age 16+ or Ages 14-15 with a parent. Caroline is a 35 year Bedford resident and has been addicted to knitting for over 40 years. She knits while watching TV, waiting at appointments and riding the subway… although she does not knit while driving, she does knit as a passenger, even in the dark.
