Star Party

Gather around with other amateur astronomers and see things you don’t typically take the time to ponder. Bring your own telescope or peer through one of ours.  September enjoy viewing the Moon, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter.

Super-Cold Science

Amazing things happen when matter changes temperature. With the help of a Museum educator and an intensely cold liquid, visitors will experience the remarkable changes of size, form, and behaviors that occur when a variety of objects and substances are super-cooled.  Then join us for the Star Party at Great Brook Farm at Dusk.

Animal Invaders

Children’s Fall Blanket Flea Market

Are you wondering what to do with all of those toys in your toy box and/or closet? Bring a blanket and spread your treasure out on the field. Make sure you price your items before you come to set up. Set up begins at 9:30am and clean up should be completed by 2:00pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is necessary.

Mommy/Daddy & Me Kayaking

This program was to address the growing number of active adults starting families. In addition to basic paddling skills and safety considerations we help parents adapt to our proven strategies to comfortably paddle with a toddler. This class is taught in stable recreational kayaks where your child will sit safely between the parent’s legs in the kayak’s cockpit. This class is appropriate for parents and their child between 1 and 5 years.

This program emphazises safety, enjoyment and skill acquisition in “recreational” kayaks. This instructional programs introduction to safe and efficient paddling is also relevant for river and touring/sea kayaking. *This course is designed for adults, but children aged 10-15 are welcome to participate with a parent.

This course is focused on the up-and-coming activity of Geo Caching, a modern day treasure hunting experience. You will learn how to get coordinates for geo trip and learn the skills necessary to use a GPS system. Later on we will use the GPS to find a treasure of our own. This course is designed to be enjoyed by individuals, couples and families, come on out and try something new.

Fall Foliage Kayak Trip

Enjoy the beauty of fall in placeNew England from a different perspective. An experienced guide will lead you down the historic Concord River at a leisurely pace. No experience is necessary. All ages are welcome. Directions will be sent a couple of days before the trip.

Snowshoe Hike

Snowshoeing is FUN! We will take participants on a day hike through a winter wonderland. We’ll give tips on how to stay warm and dry in the winter along with information on safety concerns for winter backcountry traval. Snowshoes included.

Family Outdoor Rock Climb

Bring the family and learn basic safey and climbing technique in a fun and beginner friendly introduction to the exciting sport of rock climbing. Enjoy an adventure filled day at a local climbing site.  Adult must accompany child.
