Gather with other amateur astronomers and see things you don’t typically take the time to ponder. Bring your own telescope or peer through one of ours. Enjoy viewing the Moon, Venus, Mars and Saturn. Before the star gazing begins bring you kids to our fabulous Museum of Science program right here in Carlisle.
Museum of Science: Rockets: There and Back Again & Parent Night Out

Join us for a GREAT performance with the Museum of Science or drop your kids off and enjoy a night out for yourself. We will provide the pizza, enrichment, entertainment and transportation to the events for your child(ren). The Museum of Science Rockets show at Carlisle Kids’ House will allow your child the opportunity to “create an air rocket that launches across the room, and engineer a way for a pay load to return safely to Earth. This hands-on workshop explores the science behind rockets and space exploration. Use your imagination to plan, build, and test your own design”. After the performance we will transport your children to Great Brook Farm for our Free and entertaining Star Gazing Party. Participants in the Parent’s Night Out will then be transported back to CKH for
movie and popcorn and more astrologically fun activities!

Using our portable planetarium, we will take you on a tour of the solar system and beyond, and provide useful tips on how you can navigate the night sky from your own backyard. Participants in the Parent’s Night Out will then be transported back to CKH for movie and popcorn and more astrologically fun activities!
Children’s Blanket Flea Market

Are you wondering what to do with all of those toys in your toy box and/or closet? Bring a blanket and spread your treasure out on the field. Make sure you price your items before you come to set up. Set up begins at 9:30am and clean up should be completed by 2:00pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is necessary.
Scrapbooking/Album Making Introduction

We will discuss getting started in scrapbooking/album making and then make a mini version to take home! Bring 12-15 photos of the same theme or moment in time (family, a special weekend, etc.) Album and page decoration included in the class. *A materials fee of $15 will be collected by the instructor, at class.
What to Cook when Your Teen becomes a Vegetarian

When your teenager announces that they’ve become a vegetarian, it might be hard to imagine what they’ll be eating now that they’ve cut out meat, chicken and fish. Being a vegetarian doesn’t mean just eating vegetables; it requires thinking about alternative sources of protein an complex carbohydrates. In the 1st week we’ll talk about: the difference between being a vegetarian and a vegan. We’ll explore where to find information about how to eat well on a vegetarian diet; and we’ll talk about some of the new products on the market that provide appetizing and healthy alternative sources of protein. During the 2nd week, we’ll have some hands-on time in the kitchen as we cook up some tasty vegetarian and vegan dishes that everyone in your family will love- even the
most committed meat eater.
RAD Women’s Self Defense

The RAD Woman’s class is the national standard in Self Defense Education. This is a comprehensive women’s only course of awareness, prevention, risk reduction/avoidance as well as realistic hands-on self defense tactics and techniques. RAD graduates have a free lifetime return and practice policy. The program is for woman of all ages and one that every high school woman should take before going off to college. Snowshoe Hike

Appreciate this special time of year. Snowshoes, their proper use and fitting will be discussed, along with other equipment, clothing and safety issues required to be safe and comfortable. The 1st class will take place indoors at the Carlisle Town Hall while the 2nd and 3rd will explore local conservation areas, putting your new skills into practice under the guidance of our professional instructors. Snowshoes and headlamps will be provided for each participant. Please note that this class is designed to run whether or not there is snow.

This course is focused on the up-and-coming activity of Geo Caching, modern day treasure- hunting. You will learn how to get coordinates for geo trip and learn the skills necessary to use a GPS system. Later on, we will use the GPS to find a treasure of our own. This course is enjoyed by individuals, couples and families. Come out and try something new! The 1st class will take place indoors at the Carlisle Town Hall, while the 2nd and 3rd will explore local conservation areas, putting your new skills into practice under the guidance of our professional instructors.
Mother’s Day Kayak Trip
