There will be a special telephone line from the North Pole to Carlisle. If you wish to have Santa call your child, please send a note and indicate any special topics you would like mentioned and mail to the Recreation Department, 66 Westford Street, Carlisle, MA. A phone call will be made between the hours of 6:00-8:00pm.
Spectacular Hands-On Family Science Night

Instructor: Top Secret Science
Come join this very cool and fun program! Over the past 16 years, Top Secret Science has worked hands-on with over 600,000 children. Each family will explore 5-6 weird and wacky hands-on science experiments and will make and take home most of these projects. The scientists are fast paced and funny, and your kids will be thoroughly entertained (they’ll even learn some interesting things too). We will explore weird motions, crazy chemistry, crystals, and science magic. Be prepared for lots of fun stuff. A wonderful 1 ½ hours of science! Hope to see you there!!!
Parent/Child Charcoal & Pastel Drawing

Instructor: Alma Bella Solis
Students will produce their own composition as they interpret the instructor-selected art subjects using either charcoal pencils/chalks or, dry pastel chalks/pencils or, the combination of both. New students should bring to class their own choice of art subject to draw. Drawing techniques in outline, contour, shading, blending and detailing are taught. Materials list available at Recreation Office.
Snowshoe/Winter Hike

Winter in New Englance is unique. Come learn a fun and healthy way to enjoy and appreciate this special time of year. Explore a local conservation area during a magical, guided moonlit hike. Snowshoes and headlamps will be provided for each participant. Please note that this trip is designed to run whether or not there is snow. Be sure to provide an email address at which you can be contacted (a few days before the trip) with a meeting place.
Intro to Geo-caching

This course will get you started enjoying the modern day treasure hunting activity of Geo Caching. You will learn how to get the coordinates for interesting caches near you and how to use a hand held GPS receiver and compass to find the cache. GPS receivers will be supplied for your use during class. This course is designed to be enjoyed by individuals, couples and families. Come on out and try something new! Please note that we’ll be outdoors in uneven terrain. Please wear good footwear and dress appropriately for the weather!
