The Town of Carlisle Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is an appointed three member board with four associate members. An associate member may represent an absent regular member.
Carlisle ZBA regular hearings are held at 8:00 PM on the first Thursday of the month in the Carlisle Town Hall while Comprehensive Permit (40B) hearings are held at 8:00 PM on the third Monday of the month.
The ZBA hears and decides upon appeals by persons who have been unable to obtain a permit from the Carlisle Building Department in accordance with the Carlisle zoning bylaws. The ZBA may issue a variance or a special permit.
The ZBA is the authority for granting Comprehensive Permits for 40B Affordable Housing projects.
