Programs
Child Passenger Safety Program

The Carlisle Police Department has two officers who are trained as Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPS).  Both officers have completed the National CPS Certification Training Program.  Child seat installation and inspections are currently done by appointment only.  Participants are asked to contact Sgt. Andy Booth or Officer Chris Arguoyan via email or phone (978) 369-1155.  Participants are asked to fill out the Child Passenger Safety Inspection/Installation Form under the downloadable forms section prior to coming in for their appointment.

Restorative Justice Program
The Restorative Justice Program is an effective alternative method to deal with incidents that cause offense to an individual or to a community. This confidential process that helps offenders understand the impact of their actions and accept responsibility for the harm they have done to individuals and to the community.  Appropriate cases are referred by the police to the circle coordinators.

Trained community volunteers then meet individually with the victim(s) and offender(s) and parents if juvenile.  The purpose of this meeting is to explain the circle process and determine the willingness of each to participate.  Each participant receives and opportunity to speak and to be heard as together they seek to understand the harm done, who is responsible, and what is required for a fair and satisfactory resolution.  If consensus is reached, an agreement is signed.

Community volunteers monitor fulfillments of the obligations outlined in the agreement.  Upon completion of the obligations all circle members will have an opportunity to gather for a final meeting to hear the outcome.

RUOK Program

RUOK, which stands for "Are you OK" is a telephone reassurance program run through the Carlisle Police Department.  After filling out a simple form, a phone call is made every day by a computer at a designated time.  If the caller does not respond, the police will investigate to make sure that the person is ok.  This can be a lifesaving program for someone who does not have daily contact with others.  Contact the Council on Aging for more information or for a sign-up form.

Traffic/Safety Program

The Carlisle Police Department is committed to addressing motor vehicle/pedestrian safety issues.  This is accomplished by motor vehicle law enforcement and educating the public on general law enforcement / safety issues.
