The Annual Caucus will take place March 20, 2023, 7pm in the Clark Room of Town Hall, 66 Westford St., Carlisle, MA 01741

The Caucus is a meeting at which candidates for Town Offices are nominated. A minimum of 25 Town of Carlisle registered voters must be present to hold the Caucus. This group of registered voters is also referred to as the Caucus.

At the Caucus, nominations by Town of Carlisle registered voters are taken from the floor. Two candidates for each open seat may be nominated at the Caucus. If there are more than two nominees for any seat, the Caucus must vote and select the two nominees by a hand vote. The two receiving the most votes will become the Caucus nominees.

Nomination by Signature

The deadline to submit nomination petitions to the to the Office of the Town Clerk for certification is March 28, 2023 by 3pm.

Persons who wish to be a candidate for Town Office who were not nominated at the Town Caucus can obtain nomination papers from the Town Clerk. Candidates must obtain the ink signatures of 29 Town of Carlisle registered voters. Electronic signatures or stamps are not valid signatures. We advise candidates to obtain additional signatures in case any signatures are not able to be certified by the Registrars.
