Should I use an Early Voting or Absentee Voting Ballot?

Early Voting Ballots are for Vote by Mail in the 2020 Town Election. This option is offered as a direct response to COVID -19 social distancing guidelines. Voting by Mail gives registered voters the option to stay home and vote safely. To receive an early voting ballot you must make the request in writing to the Town Clerk. Early Voting Ballots may be requested until noon, the day before the election. Filled ballots must be received by the Town Clerk before the close of polls the day of the election. There is no in person Early Voting for the 2020 Town Election.

Absentee Ballots are for registered voters who are: going to be out of town the day of the election, religious belief that prevents them from going to the polling place, or physical disability that prevents them from going to the polling place. For the 2020 Town Election, the definition of “physical disability” has been extended to include people who are taking precautions due to COVID-19. Voters who would like an Absentee Ballot must submit an application. Absentee Ballots may be requested until noon, the day before the election. Filled ballots must be received by the Town Clerk before the close of polls the day of the election.
