Fire Department Information

The Carlisle Fire Department is an on-call (paid) department with a full-time Chief.  Deputy Chief, Fire Prevention Inspector, and Administrative Assistant are all part-time positions. The department maintains minimum staffing of six firefighters (including two EMTs and one officer).

Among services provided by the department are fire prevention and suppression, investigations and inspections, emergency medical services, and public education.

Training

Training sessions for all firefighters are conducted on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 7 until 9:30 p.m. An all day training session is conducted on a Saturday each spring. In addition, EMTs receive in-service training at the fire station on the first Wednesday of each month from 7 until 10 p.m., and are required to complete state continuing education requirements every two years. Members also attend field classes conducted by the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy and many have completed their national Firefighter I/II certification.
