WESTFORD STREET CULVERT COLLAPSE UPDATE as of 6/3/2024:
Carlisle officials met with the Town’s engineering firm this morning to finalize a plan to address the Westford Street culvert collapse. The DPW continues to monitor the collapse, adding a steel plate span that is temporarily securing the roadway. Officials are seeking an emergency waiver and procurement to start construction on a temporary fix (two-year solution) to this important throughway. Residents should expect delays and/or significant detours during the construction phase of this project, but more information will be provided when possible.
The Town Administrator would like to thank DPW Director Jim Hall and the DPW staff for their diligence and extra work on this situation. Additionally, many thanks to the Police Department and Nitch Engineering for their quick response to all requests to make the roadway safe.
